Being an employer you have to hire new people and for this purpose you need new resources for hiring. It is the employees on whom success of entire organization depends. Before hiring it is responsibility of the  employer to make sure that he has full understanding of hiring process.Hiring Employees

How to attract qualified applicants, what to consider in interviews and how to select the right person. You can answer these and many more question very easily but you have to consider some questions first.

1. Why do you need to hire someone?

Ok answer this question. Sit down and think why are you hiring someone? First of all analyze your business and focus on what are your strengths and where are you in the market now? Take yourself back to the mission and vision of  your company, you will be more easily guided. Hiring a new employee need a lot of financial commitment so you will want to be sure that hiring is the right decision. In other words do Job Succession Planning.

2. What will the new position include?

Now once decided on first question, move to second one. Be sure about what will be the duties and responsibilities and new employee. If you are fulfilling current position, then duplicate the duties of previous employee and also think what new thing are to added. If it is entirely a new position consult your team and HR department to outline the duties of this position.

Once the analysis is done write it down in job description. Make sure following things are included in your Job Description:

  1. Summary of the position
  2. List of job duties
  3. List of minimum requirements and skills

3. What kind of person do you want to hire?

This question has both practical and abstract dimensions. Do decide on the nature of the job. That is you hire full time, part time or intern. Another thing is that will these be recent graduate or experienced Employees? Similarly you can promote some form within the company.

Another thing of very much importance is that you must not make judgment very quickly during the interview. Interview all the candidates and then come to a conclusion. Don’t be biased at all.

4. How are you going to find the right person?

Now this is the question of intense importance. So you can advertise the position in Newspaper, online or you can use employee referrals. Once resumes had been received, shortlist and call for interview. For a successful interview keep in mind following things:

  1. Make sure you are asking the right questions.
  2. Pick an interview style.
  3. When interviewing a number of different candidates, try to keep the interview process as consistent as possible
