Coping with an Annoying Coworker

<

At some point in your career, you may come across a coworker whom you don’t like, or let me say can’t stand. Your coworker may be extremely nosy, extra efficient, too talkative or having some awfully annoying habits, whatever it is, eventually you will have to deal with it in order to survive in your job, here’s how you can do it.

1. Stay away from the annoying coworker as much as you can. If it’s possible, refrain from interacting with the employee as much as you can. Don’t be rude, maintain your polite behavior but don’t be too friendly. Lesser the contact you have with him/her, the better you will feel.

2. If you simply can’t stand anything, say it politely and nicely. If you feel distracted by his/her constant chatting, tell them that you have a problem concentrating on two things at a time and would love to hear their story once you’re finished with your job.

3. If politeness doesn’t work, then act wisely by consulting your boss. If you don’t want to involve your direct supervisor, you can always talk to the HRM department to help you out. A company will surely help its employees in order to help them enhance their production level.

4. If nothing else works and you feel that you cannot tolerate the irritating coworker any longer, then go for a transfer to a different department or find a new job. However, only do this if nothing else works as the new office might have some new annoying employees as well.
