In this case, the first thing you should do is to let go of your guilt or bitterness, knowing that you have not wasted your time. You have definitely learned something from your previous experience, and you are more experienced now than when you got your last job.

Try to use your energy through searching and applying for as many jobs as you can, that look appropriate to you. Don’t just sit back after one interview or opportunity, keep on searching until you sign that contract. This will also help to keep you from thinking about the last interview you had and driving yourself crazy from wondering whether or not you got the job.

To help you out, here are seven simple steps to guide you towards a better interview.

1. Practice by going on several interviews, even for jobs you have no intention of taking. This will build up your confidence and give you some practice as well.

2. Do some research about the company thoroughly before going for an interview. Take the help of Internet, libraries and periodicals to find current information.

3. Know about the company’s market, products and goals.

4. Remember some facts about the company and be prepared to quote them during the interview whenever appropriate.

5. Formulate a list of some intellectual questions to ask during your interview to give off a good impression.

6. Talk to other people who are currently working or have worked previously at the company.

Hang around the building in the morning, keeping a note of how the staff dresses, as well as their body language so you get to know about the company better
