1. Assess your current job satisfaction. You can do this by keeping a daily record of your reactions to your job situation and looking for the aspects of your current job that you like or dislike? This will help you figure out whether your dissatisfactions are related to the type of work you do, your company culture or the people with whom you work?
2. Find out about your interests, values and skills. Do an analysis about the previous job roles, any volunteered work you have done, and projects and jobs you have worked on to identify preferred activities and skills. This will help you to decide which field is best suited with your interests.
3. Brainstorm ideas for career alternatives. You can do this by discussing your field of interest and your special skills with friends, family, any other contacts and counselors. You can also take help from online resources to find out about the various options available.
