In the big city life is hard, with so much competition.  As a result some people take whatever job is available. Sometimes it’s a 9 to 5, sometimes it’s the night shift at a gas station. Sometimes it’s not even legal. We have listed here some jobs that can be called as The Worst Urban Jobs in America. If you have had experience in any of these jobs, share your experiences.

These people risk their lives every day. Most cities have budget constraints that prevent an sufficient number of police on the street in the first place. They are often less trained and out gunned in the most dangerous situations. Every traffic stop, domestic dispute call or drug house kaput could be dangerous for them. Although the benefits are great the pay is only sufficient  and many officers moonlight doing private security or as bodyguards. Moving through the ranks and becoming a Detective or some other non street level position is usually the best option for a long career.

Big city fireman have to risk their lives everyday. They have to go in, save lives and put out a fire before it spreads to surrounding buildings. In times of mobs (Detroit and Watts in the 1960’s and LA after the Rodney King verdict) they are actually under attack from angry mobs. This job is not suitable for the weak.

Exterminators

If a cockroach or rat inhibited house is your idea of fun then this job is for you. For the rest of us, the outlook of going into a stranger’s house that is overrun by disease distributing pest is a hilarious job. Stephen King has also written a short story from inspiring this awful job.

There are stores that are self employed and run by a family. Some large stores that work 24 hours hire people to work for them in their desired hours. But this Job will sometime put them in danger when some guy come in and ask money and shot them dead without any struggle.

Prostitution world’s oldest profession. Those who are doing this always in constant danger. They health remain at risk and it leads them to death. They mostly died due to STDs and AIDS.  In some countries its illegal so they have to face jail many time in their career.

Factories are always find people who can work at cheap labor. People find them easily and can earn quickly but in past its was so hard. These days conditions are good and factories pay them with extra benefits. But factory job is still and hard, tedious and dirty.

Spending hours and hours in a cube is the life of a office work. They always feel insecure by thinking that they might be fired if their boss find them lazy in work. They show themselves busy in working by doing surfing the net exchanging funny emails.

Road accident, cab problems, long driving hours and less sleep is the job of cab driver. Some they drives are robed for some dollars by passengers and they even shot them dead without any hesitation.

Drug dealers can be find in any street. Many people take this job to earn money fast.  But this not only make them criminal but also leads them to death during fight with some rival gangs.

Telemarketing is the growing profession of the today world. They always call you when you don’t like to hear them. They often sell such thing that you don’t want to buy. They call you again and again to prove their arguments. The truth behind is terrible. Telemarketers are very smart and young. They need money to earn their living, college fee etc. They work in hectic positions are to reamin stick with their phone or handset.
