To answer this question, you don’t really need any hard preparation. Just do a little homework for this answer before going to interview. Think about what your new employer would find most interesting and most importantly, what is most suitable for the job your are applying for.

There can’t be any exact or perfect answer for this question. The interviewer only asks this question to see if you know yourself and how well you can express yourself.

Some possible work strengths can be:

  • Strong and firm leader
  • Having good skills of managing
  • Creativity
  • Having good hold over your skill
  • Good in resolving conflicts and problems
  • Flexible and problem solver
  • Always willing to take on new things
  • Solid determination
  • Completing the assigned work before deadlines
  • Quick learner and flexible with changes in work

There are different work strengths which every individual has. The basic advice for this question would be to show the employer your strength and how your greatest strength benefited your previous employer and if its your first job, then you can tell about your school or college where  that strength worked for you.

Choose the particular job skill based on both what you think the employer is looking for and your strongest story. What an employer might be looking for in you, you can find that by looking at the job description.

If you think that you are not having good story then take some time to think little more. You can ask your friends or fellow workers.

Everyone is having something good to tell about himself or herself but it’s really important to believe in yourself when it comes to job interviews.

The final thing to remember while answering this question is to try starting with a phrase like “ I guess” or “I’ve been told” “ I think” or any other word that will help you to tone down the potential boast. Never act as if you are shy or blushing, just start off with a gentle phrase to answer the question in best manner.

A good story based answer for this slightly distress little interview question can make you stand out from other candidates.
