How To Cope With a Hated Job?

If you don’t like your current job then don’t be distressed you are not alone in such condition. According to surveys 87%  of Americans don’t like their jobs but they are stuck doing them. But hating your job can lead to hopelessness and depression.

Here are some tips to cope with a hated job:

  1. Find out why you hate your job. Several thing counts for disliking the job, like it can be because of the actual work, the environment, the pay, your boss or the people or a person at work. When you will find out the reason then it will be easy for you to find the solution for that.
  2. Transmit your issues to your boss in a positive manner. Before meeting your boss think about your approach and be prepared to offer solutions. Never complain or gossip about your co-workers. Because that will increase your problems later on, and your this step will be increasing more people against you on workplace.

  1. Begin your day with a positive approach. Change your cants to cans, and your complains into compliments. A little positive change in your attitude will post a positive effect on your job and may be you see a promotion come your way.
  2. In order that you can focus better find something of interest such any hobby, or going back to school, writing a book or trading stocks. You must adopt something interesting outside of your job so that you can look forward to and feel good about. Try to find out what hobby can be interesting for you.
  3. Exercise daily because that makes you feel good, it gives you energy, stamina, fights depression, relieves stress and gives you great self-esteem. According to a research its proven that exercise can actually boost your level of serotonin in the brain and stimulate endorphins that sometime make you feel excited. So make your daily schedule like that you can get time for exercise, or a brisk walk even only for half hour.
  4. Refuse to let others get you down. Its not like that everyone will like you there will be few who will be disliking you also. There are some people on job places who make the workplace miserable. Try to avoid such people as much as you can, be hospitable and kind and never let such people to get under your skin. Imagine yourself behind such shield that cannot be penetrated with negativity. Though this thing sounds silly but some people had found it very effective.
  5. Make a plan for your future if you are going along your current job well and you see there are chances of promotion also then sticks to it. If you are not having any goals in your current job then think about finding a new job or career.
  6. Always keep your options opened and put your resume to other companies. Make a point in your mind that you will send a certain number of resumes a week and apply for a certain number of jobs. It’s really hard to be doing that everyday what you hates that’s why its necessary to keep your options opened always.
