Working Through Christmas

If you find yourself stuck in the office, working through Christmas, you are not alone. Nowadays, there are many employees who find themselves in a job where you need to schedule the holiday off beforehand, to take the day off.

 

However, if you can’t get any leave, and have to work through Christmas, here are some rescheduling ideas, which may help you out:

• Try to have a big Christmas Eve or maybe a huge New Years Eve instead; even the day after Christmas could work well, if you spend quality time with your family

• If possible, have a shortened shift for the holiday; and try to work the celebration into a later or earlier time of day;
• Switch your shift with someone who does not celebrate the holiday
• Take an overnight shift
• Switch Christmas with the family to Christmas Eve
• Have a Christmas party at work with the other employees
• Call some family members during the day
• Play seasonal music and start singing at work
• Remember you are not alone, so cheer up!
