2. Network, Network, Network

Widen your network by interacting with different professionals through various sites. Not only professionals, even your personal contacts on facebook and msn can help you find a job opportunity. For a start, log in to a networking site, seek for present employees and managers and invite them to join your network.

3. Research Your Potential Employer

Before applying for the job, conduct a proper research about the organization in order to evaluate whether you can fit in that particular organization or not. You can conduct this research by visiting their official site, through articles, newspapers and personal contacts. This research will further give you an insight on which company is currently performing well and which company has the potential to grow further

4. Person to person

Doing proper research on yourself is as important as doing a research on the interviewer because any negative information regarding you can be harmful and impact on your job badly. You should know all about your previous reports. Try to get to know from friends about your reputation in the market, and which skills are more obvious to others.

5. Back to basics

There are some basic things to ensure when applying for a job or submitting your CV. These include:

  • Mention email address that sounds professional. Its preferable that you use email address starting with your own name. Avoid mentioning email addresses like “sweety90”, “pretty_20” etc.
  • Second most important thing to remember is not to depend on spell check to identify errors and mistakes.
  • Last but not the least, use the correct version of office to save your document.
